For the second year in a row Equi-Stat Elite $3 Million Rider Wes Galyean rose to the top of the Classic/Challenge Open at the Breeder’s Invitational and took home the Championship. Last year he was riding Reyboomsmall (Dual Rey x Kaboomsmall x Peptoboonsmal), but this year he entered the ring on 5-year-old Button Down Supercat.

Galyean, of Claremore, Oklahoma, and the mare (Dual Rey x Highbrow Supercat x High Brow Cat) marked a 226 in the 25-horse finals and finished a mere half-point ahead of the eventual Reserve Champions.

The win was worth a hefty $23,082 paycheck, which pushed Button Down Supercat to lifetime earnings of $192,601.
